I decided to try a new approach to the bendy arm setup. It is based off of a three point arc that starts at the shoulder, passes through the elbow and ends at the wrist. Locators along the arc curve drive clusters which in-turn deform the spline ik system. This is still in the test phase and so far it seems to be working as expected... But I've discovered from experience that animation can expose hidden issues. We shall see...

Arm Rig
I've implemented a modified version of Duncan Skertchly's bend arm setup. With a few tweaks, I was able to add it to my default arm setup. I plan on adding squash controls to the arms as well.

Next Step... Rigging
I'm pretty happy with my base model so I'm going to go ahead and start rigging. I can always add or change geometry down the road.
In addition to my standard rig, which includes a variation of the awesome spine setup by Mat Berglund, I plan on adding a couple of new features... Fk to Ik snapping and a bendy arm setup I found by Duncan Skertchly.
But before I get to the setup, I've got a couple of half done auto rigging scripts that need to be finished.

Starting With The Basics
For my sites new mascot I've decided to start simple and focus on proportions.
Here are a few sketches, I'm favoring the big head & pudgy stomach.
